The famous Snaefellsjokull glacier (1446 meters) is where the "journey" begins, ending at the Stromboli volcano in Italy. A short walk will be made from the huge stone structure called Bardur Snaefellsas, who was a shaman/viking who sensed the energy of the glacier. Day 6
REYKJAVIK CITY AND LEISURE TIME
After breakfast, you will be treated to a 3-hour Reykjavik sightseeing tour. Reykjavik city, also known, as "smoky bay", is the world's most northerly capital. The name derives from the first settlers, who noticed steam rising from the ground at the hot springs in Reykjavik. The city, although small in population, has everything larger cities have to offer. Many cultural and social events and various forms of recreation are available, not to mention interesting museums, galleries, and delightful restaurants and cafes. Reykjavik's unique proximity to nature, with Salmon River Ellidaa running through it, a thermal beach at Nautholsvik, green valleys and outdoor swimming pools, make this city second to none in the world. The Reykjavik Grand Excursion is a detailed and comprehensive introduction to Reykjavik's past and present. During this tour, the city's main attractions are highlighted on foot and by bus. You will visit one of Reykjavik's six outdoor thermal swimming pools in Laugardalur, main landmarks such as The Pearl and Hallgrimskirkja church, the National Museum of Iceland, the outdoor museum of Arbaejarsafn and the old town. This is a tour where Reykjavik's renowned charm and bustling life is brought to light. After the tour, you will be dropped off in the city centre or at the hotel (passengers' choice) for an afternoon of leisure. In the evening, join the rest of your group for dinner at the hotel.

is made of glass, providing a fantastic view of Reykjavik in all directions. To make sure everybody gets
the same view, the restaurant spins very slowly - a full circle takes about 2 hours.
Day 8
REYKJAVIK - BLUE DIAMOND CIRCLE - KEFLAVIK AIRPORT
On your last day in Iceland, you will be picked up by your coach after breakfast and taken to Reykjanes peninsula. When visiting Iceland, nature is one of the main attractions. The Rift provides a unique chance to cross the Eurasian and American continents on a small bridge in just minutes before reaching the tip of the peninsula, where colonies of thriving birds nest in the summer, in harmony alongside the spectacularly breaking surf. After this wonderful tour, we will accompany you to Keflavik airport for your return trip home. We hope to see you again soon in Iceland or on another one of our exciting and diverse GPN tours!
