On this excursion you will have tour to Trakai island castle. It’s the only water castle in east Europe which is in the middle of the lake Galve. The castle of Trakai was one of the ancient Lithuania’s centre of administrations and defense which helped to develop a big city around it. You could find a museum inside the castle. At the moment the city of Trakai is the biggest historical complex in Lithuania. In the XIV th century Grand Duke Vytautas settled Karaites, a small Turkic – speaking ethnic group. Trakai remained a notable center of Karaites cultural and religious life. Who goes to Trakai, should try traditional Karaites cuisine! After lunch returning to Vilnius. Historical Old Town of Vilnius is included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. Old Town of Vilnius is one of the largest (256 ha in area) Eastern European old towns. You will explore the Old Town, see the main historical and architectural monuments including the Cathedral square and University campus, the beautiful Castle street with the XVI – XVIII th century historical and architectural monuments, St. Ann’s and Bernardine churches – the Gothic corner, the Down Gate, known for its incredible miracles, Presidency Palace, Gediminas Tower.
